Link Test Cases to a Test Cycle
Once test cases are created, it is required to add these test cases to a test cycle (that is test run) for execution. On the basis of the execution status, Test Reports are generated.
You can -
A. Link Test Cases with a Test Cycle
B. Link Test Case Folder with a Test Cycle
A. Link Test Cases with a Test Cycle
You can link selected test cases of a particular folder or root folder with one of the existing test cycles.
Select test cases that you want to link to the existing test cycle. The count of selected test cases will be displayed above the grid.
Select All:
Select all records on the current page:
Clicking on the check box in the column header selects all the records on the current page only.
Or, open the drop-down list and select Current Page.
Select all records across all pages:
Open the check box drop-down and select the Across All Pages option.
The options for Bulk Operation start displaying on the screen on the selection of test case(s).
Open the Link With the drop-down menu and select Link with Test Cycle on it.
B. Link Test Case Folder with a Test Cycle
You can link test cases of a particular folder or root folder with one of the existing test cycles. Right-click on the folder and select Link with Test Cycle.
When you are in the parent folder and the Display Test Cases of Sub Folder(s) option is selected: All the test cases of a particular folder/root folder and sub-folders will be linked with the selected test cycle.
When you are on the parent folder and the Display Test Cases of Sub Folder(s) option is not selected: Only those test cases which are directly under the parent folder will be linked with the selected test cycle.
The Link with Test Cycle screen opens with a list of test cycles on it. You can search for test cases by their Key/Summary.
3. Select the test cycle to which the test cases are to be linked and click either of the following buttons:
Link: You can link selected test cases with multiple test cycles one by one. Select the test cycle to which the test cases are to be linked and click on the Link button. The success message pops up with the clickable Issue Key on it to open the issue detail page. Once a test cycle is linked, the Link with Test Cycle screen still remains open to let you link another test cycle.
Link & Close: You can link the test cycle and close the popup. Select the test cycle to which the test cases are to be linked and click on the Link & Close button.
You can maximize the screen by clicking on the icon in the top right corner.
You can view the linked test cycle in the Executions tab of the test case.
The Executions tab displays the following details.

Defects (with counts and links)
Attachments (clickable attachment icons - Blue if the attachment exists, Black if the attachment does not exist). It opens a read-only attachment list. You can only download the attachments on click.
The test cycles linked with the test case are displayed with Execution Results and relevant details. If defects are linked while execution, the defect count is displayed under the Defects column.
To view the logged defects for the test case, click the defect count. It opens the Link Defects screen.
To view the linked defects in Jira, click View in Issue Navigator. It navigates you to the Jira Issue search.
The Jira page appears with the linked defects.
Execute Test Cases From Executions Tab
You can execute test cases that are linked to test cycles from the Executions tab of the test case detail page. It allows you to execute test cases right from the test case page instead of going to the test execution screen to execute the test cases.
